attending and slipping
Table of Contents
1. observation
Observed the phenomenon where:
- after a meditation that empties my mind
- it would be easy to attend to new concepts
- it would be easy to load new information into mind and attend to them in ways specified to respond to certain kind of information in my favourite mindset
- after reading a lot of information, while trying to keep hold of them
- new information slips as if they don’t matter at all, regardless of their importance.
- new information are not remembered at all
- appears that no capacity is available for argument forming.
2. interpretation
an empty mind attends best. While holding information present, new information more and more tends to slip.
3. respond
- meditate before attending
- take mind-emptying rest when:
- doing a period of intensive attending, and intend to do more
- feeling new information slipping often couple would anxiety and impatience to them
- low on motivation of attending to more information(tired)
This echoes to low information diet. Both would desire emptier mind. low information diet increase the emptiness overall in a preventing manner, while mind-emptying rest empties mind actively.
