It is not enough to follow
a tutorial, as tutorial is not there when you need the skill. You need to be able to come up with the skill
.
e.g.: you can play a lick with score, but when you need the lick in improv, you don’t have the score, you don’t have a block of time to sit there and calculate/recall it. You need to be able to come up with the lick in very short time with little effort.
1. justification
one justification of the necessity of proactiveness in learning is that without which the learnt skill would not be the target skill, as the target skill would include encountering novel problems and know how to deal with it

Dealing with novel problem other than that in tutorial is part of the skill and when missing, the skill is not complete.

learning is a proactive process, initiated by a person to acquire familiarity of skill or facts that could be translated to reaction time around the facts, usually by means of consuming organized materials explaining the said skill or fact and practicing the desired outcome of learning.
The main outcome of learning is either acquisition of knowledge or fast association between objects(cognitive or athletic). thinking, slow and fast
